Finding Freedom from Your Thoughts
Have you ever wished your mind would just give you a moment of peace?
The constant stream of thoughts, worries, and judgments can feel overwhelming — as if you're trapped inside your own head.
But what if you are not your thoughts? What if there’s a way to step beyond them… into stillness, into freedom?
Most of us don't realize how rarely the mind is free from thinking. Thoughts happen to us constantly, often with little or no control.
This endless stream — the voice in your head — is not only usually unhelpful, but it can also be harmful.
The nature of thought tends to be negative. We often dwell much longer on something "bad" than on something good, and emotions quickly follow these thoughts.
When you identify with this voice — when you believe every thought and every emotion — you become reactive. You live at the mercy of whatever is happening around you.
There is no peace, no true control. Life feels like survival mode.
The first step is simply to notice: you have a voice in your head that constantly tells you stories about yourself, the world, other people, and situations.
And here’s the important part: That voice is not you.
Question everything it says. Don’t blindly believe it.
Most of what it says triggers anxiety, sadness, anger.
But when you start creating space between you and the voice, its control weakens — and freedom begins.
My own mind tortured me for years, until one day, out of exhaustion, I finally started looking beyond it.
Practice:
• Listen to the silence.
• Focus on your breath.
• Pay attention to the gaps between words when someone is speaking
• Spend time in nature — observe without labeling.
